Brain Function
Brain Functions by Lobe
The brain is partitioned into four distinct sections known as lobes, and it consists of two distinct hemispheres, each governing different functions. The skull provides protective coverage for the brain, shielding it from injury. Ventricles, fluid-filled cavities
within the brain, are responsible for containing cerebrospinal fluid.

The frontal lobe, positioned at the front of the brain, regulates motivation, emotion, personality, and problem-solving capabilities.
-
Essential bodily functions like breathing, blood pressure regulation, temperature control, and swallowing are managed by the brain stem, situated at the rear of the brain.
-
Vision is chiefly controlled by the occipital lobe located at the posterior of the brain.
-
The parietal lobe, situated on the top of the brain, governs the sense of touch and facilitates the identification of sizes, shapes, and colors.
-
Memory, auditory processing, and language comprehension are predominantly handled by the temporal lobes situated on the sides of the brain.

The left hemisphere manages the right side of the body, and conversely, the right hemisphere controls the left side. Consequently, damage to the left side of the brain can lead to impairments on the right side of the body.
-
The left hemisphere primarily oversees language proficiency, so injury to this region can result in difficulties with language comprehension or speech.
-
Spatial skills and judgment are predominantly regulated by the right hemisphere, which encompasses the ability to understand, reason, and recall spatial relationships, such as gauging the distance between objects.
